I had resigned myself to the opinion the the Powerspec Ultra was an inferior printer and I’d never get a quality print out of it. It turns out their crappy software is the issue. Previously, I had used Repetier Host with my Printrbot and it was very fun the amount of control I had over all process variable: nozzle temperature, extrusion multipliers, travel speed, ooze control, rafts, support, etc. Powerspecs software had NONE of it!

Fortunately, I found Simplify 3D worked with the Powerspec Ultra and for $150 I could license the software for myself forever. I’ve now got all the settings for dialing in the prints, the ability to save different printing profiles, and I am getting very good prints.
