My 3d Printer is down :( But like a Phoenix rising from Arizona!

It all started with a clogged nozzle. I was dismantling the printer head to clear the clog. While turning the wrench to remove, the nozzle broke in along the threads.

The PowerSpec Ultra has no BOM that I can find online, so I am left hunting through the internet trying to find the right parts. I bought the wrong heads off Ali Baba the first time, but I was able to find the right heads at Microcenter for a much higher price. I also bought some new teflon tubing and a 12 vdc fan to fix up while I was at it.

The next problem (that I am currently stuck on on) was getting the new nozzles to set against the feed tube to lock the heater block in place. At first, when tightening the new nozzles down all the way, the heater blocks are loose. Loose heater blocks give way to imprecise extrusion, and then the whole print goes to crud.

Come what may …

I decided to just crank the heater blocks down regardless of final position. Upon visual inspection, the nozzles seem fine and the bed levels ok.  I’m having a hard time getting the first layer to stick, so I’m going to get some AquaNet tonight.

We are back up and printing!
